Life Lately

Here are some recent pictures of life here lately. Sometimes I get pictures of Lydia, like this one, that look so funny. Don't you think she has sort of a "cartoonish" look to her?

Lydia loves her little dog, Pup. We never go anywhere without him. (Actually we have two Pups...I cycle through them both so neither one looks "new" or "old." This enables me to keep the well-loved animal fairly clean. I suppose we got "lucky" when she gravitated toward this stuffed animal --it is machine washable. It amazes me how many stuffed toys are "spot-clean." How ridiculous.
Why does bath water always taste better...
My good friend from college, Shawn, came over one day this week to hang out and...what else, pack!! She helped me "cull" and gave me the boost I needed to get rid of sentimental junk. We found these gloves from Ben's days in MN - they are for serious winter weather. The name "hotfingers" caused Shawn to go into hysterics!

Jen, where did you find a house after all? Did I miss it on a previous blog? I hate moving. Phillip and I have moved 9 times if you count all the times I helped him since we started dating. I am absolutely good at it but I hope to get movers next time. Round up all your friends to assist you. We never knew anyone who lived in the area we were moving to so we didn't have much help.Often it was just Phillip and I doing everything. Also, there are some people who are willing but may not be too kind to your stuff. It takes a lot of preparation and patience. Good Luck!

I must say I like Lydia's taste in animals. :-) That is a good idea to cycle through two of them. I may try that when we have kids.

When Julie was little her favorite item was a receiving blanket called "Blue". It was washed so many times it started to fray and each time Momma trimmed it up it got smaller. One day Blue went into the dryer and didn't come back out. Momma had an identical receiving blanket that was yellow that she got Julie to use but it was still called blue. Eventually Blue the second went the way of Blue the first but by that time I think Julie was old enough not to care. I was very attached to a stuff bear as a child named Poinker. (He had a music box in him that played "Where is pointer" but I prounounced it poinker".)

OOh, Jen, getting fancy on us with the word verification biznass. Lydia is just a goof, that's all. I dreamt last night that we were at home in Mcallen babysitting Lydia. We didn't have a pack and play so we were trying to find all of these creative places to bed her down. Mom was doing all these weird things like putting her in the bathroom with the kitty litter and the cat. Finally, we emptied out the master closet and put her in there. I just couldn't get over this fear of what Jen was going to say when she heard about it.
