Input

Today has been such a beautiful day! I took Lydia to the park this morning for some much needed outdoor playtime. We met friends there and the mommies chatted while the girls were in various states of "play." I had to meet up with Ben at lunchtime since he took both our cell phones to work today (and we don't have a home phone.) It was weird to be "incommunicado" - if only for a few hours!
Now Lydia is napping and I'm trying to get a grocery list together. It is not going well! I feel like I make the same things too often. Probably because that is "easy" - but it also gets boring!! Anyone want to share some dinner recipes?? (Sometimes I wish I could just call someone in the morning and have them tell me what to make for dinner...wouldn't that be nice on occasion - not having to come up with a meal plan?)

Also, does anyone have any good children's worship or praise song CD's to recommend?

She loves to find our shoes and put them on. Actually walking in them is quite the challenge...

The artist - So far all coloring surfaces have been limited to paper. She prefers regular paper to a coloring book. (love that hair!)

What a great Mommy's helper! The picture of you two is really cute. Have you heard of www.savingdinner.com. It is a recipe/meal planner/grocery list all in one. Her recipes are easy and delicious, and she has a trial section - it would keep you busy for a month without purchasing anything.

I love the pic of you both at the sink. What's happening to Lydia's curls?

I can second SavingDinner.com I've never subscribed to it but I did get her cookbook. It's a good way to try it out.

I know what you mean about feeling weird without your cell phone. We too don't have a home phone so if I ever forget mine I feel lost. I've also become addicted to talking to people on the phone while driving if I am alone. Probably not the best habit to have but it keeps me company.

I request that you post some pictures of you and little Lauren (meaning pictures that show your tummy). :-)

About me, my tummy and Lauren -- there isn't much there to see except...me! Even my mom says, "you don't look pregnant!" We will start with some tummy pics soon though, just for her sake and scrapbooks. I think I was bigger with Lydia at this point, which does not make sense to me. I always heard the opposite - that you show more quickly etc. after your first.

That is interesting that you aren't showing as much as you did with Lydia. I had always thought the same way as you - that subsequent babies showed much earlier. I guess you've just got really toned abs! :-)

Jen, I recently got 2 new cookbooks that I love for practical reasons and everything we've tried thus far has been really good. Better Homes and Garden Simple Slow Cooker Recipes and Meals For A Month. I use the first one several times a week and enjoying the convenience of my crock pot once again.
