bibs

Does anyone have any advice about bibs? I am so disgusted with the plastic ones I've been using with Lydia. (Those plastic ones with a softer "fabric" backing.) They always seem to smell bad - it is so gross. I scrub them thoroughly after each use, hanging them to dry, and frequently soak them in laundry detergent (or toss them in the washer). Does anyone have any tips? Or do you have a wonderful bib you'd like to recommend?

Hmm...we never had that problem. I think all of our bibs were either fabric OR plastic. I don't think any of them were like you are describing.

I think I use the ones that Stephanie is talking about and usually can find them at WM. I toss them in the wash every nite with my kitchen towels so they are finished before I go to bed and then hang them in the laundry room to dry before morning. So far this has worked pretty well for us even though I replace them every few months because they still get yuk.

I know what you mean about those type of bibs - gross!! I LOVED my kangaroo bib. It caught all the food, washed spic-n-span, and was dry by the next feeding. However, some babies do not like them at first.

Not a bib comment, but I just caught up on reading your blog. Somehow, I never heard the story of feeling faint in the store. What a day! I hope your improvement goes on a steady upward slope. :)

I bought some cheapo ones from target, and I have no smell problem. They are all plastic. My only complaint is that food and liquid just slide on down, and the little pocket doesn't really catch much, thus raising potential for her pants to get messed up, though this doesn't always happen. Plus, it's not like Lydia is on a mushed up food diet so...Anyway.
